Harry and Elizabeth Pettyjohn are the new Youth directors for St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. We do have some experience working with youth. We began as volunteers at Paoli Pres. Church in 1994. Wow that seems like a long time ago. In fact a lot of you probably weren't born yet! Man we're old. Anyway we did this for several years before a "terrible" situation created an opportunity for Elizabeth to take the role of Youth director in 1997. (If you ask I will tell you about the terrible event). But what was horrible, God was able to use for his good and glory, sounds like a lot of people I know. Elizabeth worked in this role until the end of 2005 when we moved to our current home and the commune was too far for her and our family. We also have the desire to ensure our kids go to church and one day youth group with the same people they go to school with. Since EP (Elizabeth) was the director I was allowed to be a volunteer, lucky me. Also while volunteering and working at Paoli we took the youth group to a summer trip Fun in the SON for Senior High and The Great Escape for the Junior High. After taking our groups there for several years we were asked to join the "planning team" this is a group of youth workers who have kids and churches attending the events. So we were on planning team for The Great Escape, for two years before EP assumed the role of Director. We still serve on the team, working with Youth Conference Ministries, producing The Great Escape Johnstown. This is the camp for the North East area and occurs in Johnstown PA. (More about that another time)

So this is the quick shot of "credentials" our biggest credential is that we both Love God and know Jesus and love working with youth.
