Greetings! I’m Associate Pastor Tina Mackie. I’m Associate Pastor Tina Mackie. I’m relatively new to this position, but I’ve been in the community for quite some time. The photo is from my ordination services on June 23, 2003. A friend recently gave me a plaque commemorating that day. The plaque reads, “O Lord Thou didst strike my heart with Thy Word and I loved Thee.” These words reminded me of why I am in ministry. God’s Word did indeed pierce my heart and I fell in love. I hope that these words will mark my ministry at St. Matthew’s. Studying and teaching the Word are my joy, and I will be leading our youth Confirmation program and working with some of our adult Bible studies. I will also lead our Saturday evening worship service - one that has a contemplative feel and is intended for people of all ages. St. Matthew's offers a wide variety of worship services to keep our youth engaged and offers enough familiarity to bring comfort to those in need. And does this while focusing on how the Word of God connects with the reality of our lives -- to find the place where God’s Word pierces our hearts and to not be afraid. I hope that you will visit with us sometime soon. And I hope that having done so you will join with us as we journey from God, to God, with God.
